Another good one, Paul. Wednesday morning is my favorite commute because I know I get to listen to another one of your podcasts!
I will disagree a bit about something you said. Someone could believe your persona and *still* do a search on you — not to look for a secret, but to find out more about YOU. They could be a “true believer” in what you’re doing and a search on your name leads them to, “He’s just doing tricks?!”
If you’re posing as someone who’s a psychological reader that’s less “destructive” I think, but imagine if Uri Geller, at the height of his fame, had offered a book on spoon bending techniques. He would have been just another magician rather than “the real deal” many people thought he was.
If you want someone to believe what you’re doing is real, making it easy for them to see that it’s not seems counter-productive.
You can still use the “I’m a creator in the field” to bookers, because they and your audience are two different things.

PS – I’m only a beginner in mentalism, so I could be completely off base. But when I start performing I’ll be doing it under a fake name, partly for the reason I mentioned above. The other reason is so I can be myself on social media with my family and friends without worrying about it negatively affecting my work.
